Helping patients and caregivers share their voices

Happy New Year

March 26, 2016 Wes Michael

I heard a radio DJ wonder how late in the year can you still say, “Happy New Year.” I don’t know the answer, but it made me think, if I want to say it to you, I’d better do it now!

We’ve closed the books on a successful 2015 and I wanted to share some of the facts and figures:

  • We completed 432 projects for over 150 clients across 82 disease categories. These have included online surveys, qualitative telephone interviews, online communities, in-home interviews, webcam interviews and groups, central facility interviews, journals, mobile ethnography, etc.
  • We paid patients/caregivers over $562,000 for participation – here is what one patient told me this week: “Thank you for the opportunity for taking the surveys this past year. You literally kept me afloat and helped me make ends meet since I was forced to take early retirement due to my cancer.” Many patients make it clear they aren’t doing the surveys for the money, but to help others, but for all the respondents the honoraria shows we value their time and opinions.
  • We’ve increased our patient panels to 89 non-cancer panels and 27 cancer types. We’ve also begun to build nurse and other allied health professional panels for these disease categories

Thanks to you and all of our clients for providing direction on what patient/caregiver types you need. In 2016, based on your input, in addition to growing more rare patient panels, we will build more not-so-rare panels, such as Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis, ADHD, Psoriasis, etc. Please continue to let us know your needs and we’ll find the patient events to sponsor where we recruit the patients and caregivers to our panels.
