Getting Paid Will I Really Make $100/Hour

June 1, 2019 Wes Michael

As of 2023, for new studies, patients and family caregivers will be paid at a rate of $120 per hour. For studies already posted and/or otherwise in progress, the rate is $100 per hour.

Hey everybody. Kirk Munsch. Rare Patient Voice. Coming to you from Patient Headquarters here in Colorado Springs. Answering some questions that we’ve got at the tables and also emailed in. The question today is: What kind of questions are they going to ask me – and – Do I really get paid?

So, questions are varied. We do six, seven, eight hundred projects a year, you never know but I can tell you from personal experience, as you know, I’m a patient myself. I’ve done them as a multiple sclerosis patient on canes. I’ve done them on meds. I’ve done them on product placement. By that, I mean, I got one – one time that said: Have you seen this ad? Or: What publications do you get? So, I clicked on those. And it said: Have you seen this ad – and I went NO – and it said Thank You. Basically, it sent me $20. It was just basically an advertising kind of thing.

I’ve done them on – when I say meds, one I did was how I’m reminded to take my meds. How I remind myself. Another one was, as I said, on canes, I swear, I’m the one that made, that got HurryCane to make the base bigger.

My wife, as a caregiver, has done them on how has my condition impacted her vacations. Or our family finances – besides aggravating her!

So anyway, so do you really get paid? Yeah, we make sure, I mean you guy’s experience is hard-earned. We make sure that you’re paid at the rate of $100 per hour. It’s always in the email we send you. A lot of you have already received it. But it will say we need thirty minutes, of your time, pays $50. Or forty-five minutes of your time, pays $75. Or longer. And but basically it’s always at $100 an hour scale.

So, you know the answers, so don’t worry about the questions they ask. And yes! You really do get paid for voicing your opinion. Join Rare Patient Voice today.
