“Hi, I’m Dani. I’m 19 and from New Zealand. I’m a survivor of E-coli O157:h7 and Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS). Both life threatening illnesses have left me with multiple chronic illnesses.
In 2018, I was diagnosed with permanently damaged kidneys and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). In 2021, I was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). In 2022, I was diagnosed with Micturition Syncope, Chronic Pain, Visceral Hypersensitivity and Gastroparesis (GP).
Every day is a challenge physically and mentally. But I’m studying Early Childhood Education, I’m part of an organization, and I’ve had my story published online. I’m sharing my story to raise awareness + advocating. Everything that I’m doing keeps me fighting!
To all my fellow warriors, you know your body the best!! Don’t let anyone tell you different!! Keep fighting. You’ve got this!”
