Hi, Wes here again with another segment of You Ask, We Answer. You ask, What are your response rates? Clients ask this as they need to know not just how many patients we have, but how many they can expect to participate in their studies. For the vast majority of our panel, our response rates average 50%. We’ve recruited many of them in person at patient events and explain the process to them. They get a gift card for signing up so they look forward to our email invitations. Since they’re signed up specifically to take part in our studies, they respond well, and we reward them with incentives of $100, per hour, of their time. In fact, we hear from panelists when they haven’t been invited to a study recently.
For many of our cancer patients, the response rate averages 20%. These patients are from our wonderful partner whatnext.com. These patients have joined Whatnext to share questions and experiences, and though they’ve opted in for research, that’s not the reason that they signed up. And unfortunately, as lethal as many cancers are, we certainly lose patients. And we aren’t always informed quickly of that. For those reasons, the response rates are lower, but still a respectable 20%. We include response rates in all of our proposals and don’t forget you need to overlay incidence rates, as well, to determine the total feasibility. Thanks, and I look forward to you asking more questions that we can answer through these segments. See ya!
