As I hope you know, we at Rare Patient Voice are very proud of what we do and how we do it. We bring research opportunities to patients and pay them for their time. We protect patient confidentiality – we don’t share it or sell it, and we don’t market to patients. We only send them an email when there is a research opportunity they might be interested in. Our clients never get a patient’s personal identifiable information; they can’t tie the real person back to the answers given in a survey or interview. Patients are completely in control of what information they want to share. And when someone doesn’t qualify for a study, the clients do not use their information. We are totally transparent about how we work, we even publish our pricing on our website.
Why do I repeat that? Because from time to time a someone accuses of scamming people. Which makes my blood boil! If we were a scam, it is the world’s worst-designed scam! We reward people who sign up with a $5 gift card which we email. And we pay participants by check at the rate of $100 per hour. We’ve given out over $4.1 million to patients. And if someone doesn’t use the gift card, we still pay for it, we pay for them upfront. And if someone doesn’t cash a check, or it gets lost in the mail, we don’t save a penny, we pay our check processing company up front. So, as I said, it would be a pretty poor way to run a scam! We would be taking up a lot of time and effort to not make any money!
I understand – there are scams out there, and everyone needs to be careful and look at these things skeptically. But please, don’t accuse us of scamming! The good news is we have thousands of patients who come to our defense and tell their story of how well they were treated. I call that our reward for our good behavior. Check out our Facebook page.
I don’t mind people having questions – please ask them! Especially, please ask before you accuse us of something. Or worse, accuse us on Facebook!
Our business is built upon gaining the long-term respect of both patients and our clients. We are in it for the long term, not just to complete one project. So, give us the chance to answer any question.
